Pimpin' '68 Mazda Cosmo
Ok, so you might look at it, and say, "Hey, that's that goofy MAT car."
Well I didn't see a a japanese action hero's car. I saw a legendary classic Japanese sports car.
First thing I did was ditch those rims, and put some rims from a Import Racer! (formerly Dub City) die-cast car.
Then I sanded all the sloppy molding lines off, primered it white, and layed a nice sporty pearl red.
Threw in some details. The headlights were already painted silver so there was no way I could try to replicate the original bucket headlights, so I decided to give them tinted lenses.
I had slightly different plans, and went astray, but I'm really happy with it. I'm surprized I haven't seen any others like it.

Fantastic man... I also can't believe I haven't seen one as hot as they look. Now you're making me want to paint mine... Love that classic red too.
It begs for alloys though. I'm such a sucker for alloy parts.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Thanks for the comps guys, and Superfly, it's funny you've said that a few of my recent cars were you're favorite to date. I must be working in your direction, but it makes me wonder, "What could I possibly come up with that would be Supefly's next favorite?"
@Payaso, here ya go man.

It was supposed to have gold rims, that's one place where I went astray. It was also supposed to be a convertible, that's the other place I went astray.
Now after putting it on this chassis I kinda wish I went with my original plan, but oh well, it looks cool. No use being hung up on the woulda, coulda, shoulda's.

You know what's funny about that? I've been using the same can of red for the last 4-5 months, I just use different color base coats to change it's shade. I had been using gold under it, but this time I went with the white primer to give it a brighter sportier look.CaboWabo wrote:looks great man, you chose a classic color too.
This car was the end of that can, I barely sputtered out 2 coats.

Besides, I've been trying to work out the SE issue all week, and been dreaming mosfets. I had to do something non-techy for the afternoon to clear my head.
