BitTunerz/body testfit.

Post by HirotoR34 »

well, i got to drive the car today. It ran for about 30 seconds and died. So I ended up tearing it all back down and re-wired everything. It ran through three charges and never quit once. The body is a problem I test fit it today and it seems that I'll have to cut the wheels down a bit. to clear the fenderwells. but this should give you an idea of how it will look.

Next month the Blue focus will get the same.

Well, I'm totally impressed. I guess that Focus is a nice tall body, but still to get all that chassis under there and have it sit on there nice like that is an accomplishment. The fact that it drives well is amazing. I do think it's kind of funny that you will need to trim the wheels to get them to function, given that it looks like the stock HW. I guess they are just meant to go in a straight line, aren't they?

Did you say that was a triple cell? I imagine that can push the cast metal body fairly well.

Yeah, It's been fun. It steers fine without the body. The bit chassis geometry pushes the wheels out so much more than stock. If I cut some width out, it should tuck them in enough to steer clearly.

Excellent job hiroto. :-)
I did this mod with the civic si and a zipzap back in january. You're gonna have to do alotta shaving of that chassis inorder to get it to steer right. I gave up on using the wheels pretty quick. I did see those focuses and kinda like the look so I might go at it again.

I would ditch the wheels, but I wanted to keep it looking stock. other than the antenna sticking out, it looks like a regular die cast.

Today I shaved some width off the rims and tires.

this brought the wheels in a bit.

I also fabricated some body tab extensions, and finished cleaning up the wiring.
As far as the body itself, I have been grinding away at the front fender wells, cause that's the only thing keeping the wheels from turning.
I'll get it to work..... :puter:

they look like the perfect width, nice job man.

those bodies are thick, if you're noticing that you only need a little bit more room to clear, shave it off from the inside and work your way out.
