I got a very small butane torch, that I used to use. I think that might fit in an old car. How to get it to light remotely is another story. I like the idea of battle bits. Finally! Something my old chassis would be great for.

If you get a stream of butane going, you could easily make it light remotely with an electric spark, you just need a way to control the butane.

wouldnt be hard to mount a vertical motor to run a dremel cutting blade........ would be cool if we could make scale versions of the actual competition bots :p

does anyone give a rats ass :???:

cool idea though... and not just for demo derbys, but full out demolition racing. a wedge/cattle catcher and drill bit sticking out of the hood sounds do-able. ah so many ideas, so little time

i saw some wind up toys of the robots from the english show. didn't look too long, but they had some of the contestants bots as well as the house robots. none of the weapons were automated, they just drive forwards. pretty lame on their own considering what can be done now, but it wouldn't take much to jam some electronics in 'em and go the cat! there were 2 sizes, bit sized ones and the others had a wheelbase about the size of a miniz. that was before christmas and when i went in the other day there were none.
