Del Sol
Ok so it's like this,
I feel ready to bang out my first mod and feel compelled to do a Honda Del Sol. Problem is what to start off w/. Any Pimps out there know of anyone that has done this mod, or a suggestion on what body to manipulate? I have surfed and found jack, but know that at leaste someone else has attempted this project. Thanks.

I'd start with an S2000 body. That's probably the closest to the overall shape of the Del Sol, plus it's also a Honda. Just chop out the roof and re-build the back window / rear deck area. Don't remember exactly what the fron end looks like on the DS, but a little putty and you'll be there.
I'm starting a similar project, turning an AE86 into a VW Scirocco.

I agree.... S2000 would be the best start.

That's what I figured, for the body. DSs have an Acura kind of fog like set up as well, and will need to bubble up the S2000 front end but that aint no thang. Oh and as for

Yeah well never really liked that green (mine was Red) but you gotta admit, it's an origional friggin car color and was a bold move by Honda. That was my thought also. It has the long nose and the stubby rear. Then paint it that ugly Del Sol green color and you will be set.

Bump and update. Would post a pic if my Parents didn't borrow my digi for thier Vacation, that'll come ASAP. Anyhow took my S2000, and chopped it up and damn, they do rezemble a Del Sol pretty nicely. Just chopped, puttied and carved new grooves. Anyhow she is all primed up but need to go back in and retouch some of that putty then resand, (underestimated how much would show once paint was thrown on
).
I think all the Pimps will be proud, cuz it was all learned here on these forums. Hell I didn't even do models when I was a kid, but my attention to deatail is on the verge of compulsive.
Also have a ZZ RX7 that if all goes well will look sick. Much love to all my pimps, pics should be here tomorrow.

The RX7 might be another starting point to consider... doesn't the del sol have softer lines than the s2000? If you were really bold, splice the RX7 front and the s2000 back end together. That way you get the softer front and the flat deck lid.
edit: sorry, I didn't read your last post very well, Finks... sounds like you're already off to a great start.
