lancer evo body project
originally i had planned to use my lancer body as my beater and the porsche as the pretty show shell, but if you could see the state of the porsche you'd piss yaself laughing!
so i'm gonna pimpofy the lancer.
i was gonna do my usual good enough type job but cabo says i've got it in me to go all the way and i don't wanna make a liar outta him!
i'm not gonna get all crazydave on ya, i'm aiming for simplicity again, but i'm aiming to make it look a little meaner. it's the body that i use with the camera and i thought a "stealth" theme was fitting. and a stealthy car is a drive by shooting car!
i won't be doing any real body reshaping, just a little ventilating. i could fix the windscreen but i quite like running this body without the windows so i probably wont bother with it at all.
so here's a little progress action for ya'll.
gotta love the "before" pic

That is looking very smooth betty. Although I can't help but feel like I am looking at the sexy young virgin right before the tribe throws her into the volcano.
Either way can't wait to see her all clean and finished. Course in the form of constructive critisim may I suggest a tripple spoiler, you know how many RPMs tha will add? Screw the Nelly.

Can I suggest something? Since this body is for trashing why don't you go on the rallycross theme? You could make a rallycross Lancer with no windows, no lights, very basic... and some red net on the side windows. A few decals and it's ready to eat dirt

Something like this would be rather close to what I suggested

damn sg219, i wish i'd read that before i started!
oh 2well, i'll just stick with the plan fer now!
i lost a tail light and couldn't make a convincing copy so i just made a couple of new ones from tackle box plastic. got me decals on and i had to have a peek at it on a chassis. i cut out the rear wheel wells too so i can run with the long wheelbase without buying a special body.

aaaaaaaaaaand we're back! there's a couple of things i really could have done better like the crooked front grill and those tail lights just aint quite right. but stuff it, i wanna trash it now!
i threw a blue led under the hood to light up the chassis so it shines through the grills in a pimpin stylee! making plates was easy, print them up on marker paper (non bleeding). then i smeared some super glue on a tackle box (super glue won't stick to this stuff) and placed the paper face down in the glue. smear more on the back and allow to dry (about 1 - 2 mins). peel it off, cut em out and there ya have it, poor man's laminate!
i staged the crap outta these first pics by removing the shocks for that lowrider look and used some stealthy black wheels and nuts to finish it off.

and this is what it looks like for real

so not as stealthy as i first planned, but these things always take a few detours along the way!
