My first modding project

oookay for a little update on the car I repainted it and got some custom rims going on. Right now the little plastic gaurd for the chip is drying in the shed and shall get some interior action on this car.... Also I swear it does not look sooo 'grey' in the pics these ones didn't turn out aswell as the last ones did...

Whadda ya mean your giving me a ticket???

That's looking pretty dang nice, IronDragon. One small tip I will give you is to take a wooden toothpick and soak the end in thinner (whatever kind of paint you used) and rub the soaked end around the edge of your windows where the masks ended. That will help clean up the fuzzy chunkies you get at the edge of a mask, and the wood won't scratch the plastic. Maybe that stuff isn't worth the trouble, I know sometimes stuff like that gets exaggerated in photos. I've had some cars that look perfect when it's sitting in front of you, and the pictures look like I cut the masks with my fingernails.

Those wheels are sweet too, did you mention where they came from?

I know sometimes stuff like that gets exaggerated in photos. I've had some cars that look perfect when it's sitting in front of you, and the pictures look I cut the masks with my fingernails.

I feel ya! Pics show things that the naked eye seems to overlook.

yea the window edges could use a little work but they are definitly not as bad as they look in the pics... and some paint got on the window somehow through the tape... it baffles me but it happened

oh well I'll do the paint thinner thing and then today I should have detail painted on

I'm tellin' ya...don't know how many times I've had to go back and redo something after I took the pictures.

You do that too? That also comes in handy when you get a little paint smudge you need to clean out of a crevice.

Here's a tip to clean that up on your next project. Take an exacto blade, scrape off the the offending paint, and clear coat. A good coat of clear will level that out and make the scrapes disappear.

ahh hey thanks dude I've been afraid to touch the windsheild just because of that... oh and the wheels were ripped off a Dub City car... I have no remorse the car was an s2000 ricer so they were gladly removed hehe... I'm also suprised that my car still turns with them... on all my other bodies the wheels would get stuck on the wells

Yea I've been kinda busy frantically trying to find another job

and stuff and totally forgot about it... I will do a little more then give ya some updateage... I have found that sanding inbetween coats makes to more of a silvery grey color instead of the chrome I was looking for... oh well I'll remember it for next time
