another custom rx7 from midget_man1387
aiighty folks... I've been spittin out custom shit a lot here lately.... but here's another, and I need some input.... enter or no?? i think that its still appropraite, because at least around here, the hot rods only come out in the summer because in the winter its awful, undriveable and stuff....
The whole idea of the paint job was to make it look stock... I think I achieved this, considering my dad picked the body up and I asked if he liked my paint job, and he said "you painted that?" lol thats a good thing! anyways, it's also lowered if you can't tell lol

I'd agree with the decals comment, but the black line could be difficult to pull off and you stand a good chance of ruining a good thing (speaking from my own approach). Good, scale decals are hard to find, though. Another thing that would help make it look a little more finished is some black paint in the areas in the front that are either supposed to be holes in the spoiler or the radiator. But I think it looks nice now. Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one.

I would just tape it off, and paint with a Testors paint marker. In 2 or 3 thin coats. I never had a problem that way. How would you do it?SuperFly wrote:I'd agree with the decals comment, but the black line could be difficult to pull off and you stand a good chance of ruining a good thing (speaking from my own approach).
Have you checked these guys out. I think they came out pretty nice on my prostocker. http://radicaldecals.com/Good, scale decals are hard to find, though.

details
i have tried this trick before, just thin out some black paint till it is like water, then take your paint brush and dip it in the paint and dab, then just touch the very tip of the brush to the gaps around the doors and hood and it will transfer from the brush to the gap with out you having to follow the gap...
i hope you followed me. i so an editorial on it some where, just cant remember were.

thanks dave... I was totally thinkin a black line would be kickass, but then I also thought..... I already entered a car that had a black line, my celi... but now that you say it, you're right..crazydave wrote:That looks slick. It's smooooth lookin'.![]()
I think a black line to separate the colors would bring it together a little more, and that paint scheme would look great with some racing decals.
as far as decals are concerned... what's a good, cheap place that I can get them fast? I hate waiting lol.... and I guess I wont be entering this one, not enough time!
