i-waver Janki-Z

Post by hogjowlz »

ok. these things kick ass but are made like crap just as everyone has already said.

xmods are tanks compared to these. in size and durability lol.

mine had range problems from the get go. further inspection shows that iwaver uses shitty wire for the electronics and the antenna wire is pinched. at least that better be the cause. i also broke a motor wire off in a parking lot on the way here so tonight i will wire the motor directly to the pcb.

the servo sensitivity compared to the xmod is no comparison. and the resolution on the throttle is just as nice. i didnt really think you needed full propo on the throttle but it really is nice on this thing compared to its big ugly cousin.

i put the xmod lugs on and they sit much better than the stock big uglies.

all in all im digging on this simpler design where you can swap stuff out without having to remove 800 screws and spend 90 minutes.

and plus this is a lot closer to the bit char-g design.

When you were playing around swapping crystals back and forth and shit the other night, did you try your crystals in my tx?

Maybe we need to try that if you didn't... maybe there is something wrong with your tx...

well i busted a pinion tooth in my kitchen. range issues with the tx(ya we figured out that its the tx) are shotty at best. so now its time to yank an xmod pinion off.

I got a 9 tooth pinion and an 11 tooth pinion, in addition to the stock 6 tooth. The 9 tooth runs kind of like a teal gear in a bit, and I think I need to take it out to a tennis court before I put the 11 tooth in there. On my slick floor, taking the torque edge off with the 9 tooth is perfect, less wheel spinning, better acceleration curve, higher top speed.

ya plenty of torque with the 6toof so once i get the damn xmod pinion off itl be on my escalation type.

fyi: xmod motors wont work on a z cuz the armature is too short.

i've got a heap of pinions i bought trying to find a good one. i wish i'd bought the mrs4 alloy pinions in the first place. i got the "torque" set which has a 8, 9 and 10 toof pinion in it. they fit perfectly on the z motors and spur gears. they also have a high speed set which has a 14t in it.

scroll down http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/default.p ... 44_506_105

and with a name like "team homies" you know it's gonna be a fine lump o' pimp!

Now I'm havin' a problem with my "HighWaver", when I turn on the car switch (broken) and then turn on the controller, the motor just roars. I can't control it. The throttle trim doesn't do anything and neither does the actual throttle on the TX.

I think its gonna be Xmod parts within hours of this post unless I can get some serious help, either mentally or physically!!!

I'm pissed now. :x :x Got 2 efin iWavers from TE and now neither mine nor Hogs works properly!!!

Nope, nothing is touching. Its pretty clean cut. I have no clue what to do.

Edit...........if i turn the Trim and hit the throttle in reverse it stops runnin', but as soon as I let go it starts to burn rubber again. It just won't stop.

damn... that sucks... my I waver is still runnin very well... even outside... but, sg... definitely sounds like a prollem with the throttle trim.... sounds dumb to ask, but you do in fact have the throttle trim aligned properly, right? or maybe you need to tweak it?

you're right, but don't forget, they're still clones.
