Dump'd Truck

Post by crazydave »

Dump'd as in slammed, get it?

Anyways, I copy catted Ahh5hit. My first instinct would have been to go off road with the F-150, but when I saw his slammed, I had to do it.

I also got the Dub City wheels on the Zip Zap wheel backs, and a nice subtle wing from a RSX.

Oh but I'm not even done copy cattin'. I'm gonna rip off the paint scheme from the Dub City die-cast that I ripped the wheels from. It's almost exactly what I was picturing anyways, so I was like, "Ok I'll do that."

That looks great, dude... that F150 is just OK off the RS shelf, but you've brought it into the 'badass' category. Dude, I'm so happy with your new camera... you know, in case you were wonderin' how I felt about it. 8-)

Yeah....that looks great just the way it is. I'm sure the paint will look great too. I just picked up one of those F150's up from an ebay auction. the lowering and wheel mods makes it look so much nicer.

Ditto on the new cam...

That's cool, but I'm not totally happy with these pics. I just found a 100 watt halogen lamp at BigLots. So I'm just starting to experiment with it. Out of the whole batch of pics these are the only 2 that I thought was reasonable.

The first is no flash, but I think I got too close. Thesecond is from farther back, but I used the flash.

Any tips on light placement? It's my understanding that the light source should be somewhere behind the camera.

Yeah, behind the camera (off to one side or the other is a good place to start)... it's a little different every time for me. I follow the "move it around until it looks good" school of lighting. I think your shots are lookin' better for sure these days, the new light is gonna help even more. If you have a tripod or a way to stabilize the camera, that'll help too.

I actually usually have my light between the camera and the subject, because the lights I use aren't that powerful, and light power falls off dramatically (exponentially even) the farther away it is from the subject. My best shots are all done with the biggest, brightest, free light you can get, the sun. Light overcast days are usually the best, kinda like a giant softbox.

Your truck kicks ass btw, can't wait to see the paint.

p.s. hue found that red idler gear under his kitchen table!

I have a love hate relationship with that F150.
first off, I hate fords.
next, well nothing, I'm just jealous.

dude, do that baby up, you're gonna make a 1000 times better than what RS did.
already dig the lowering, even though I hate lowered trucks in real life - this mofo demands it.

can't wait to see what yours looks like.
Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Yeah, I prefer trucks with the lifted look, but this lowering job looks way nice. Only problem is...now it needs underglow

That's ok, I'm a slacker too, I got stuff I ripped for you, that I have put to disc yet, so maybe I need to get off my ass too.

Yeah, so do I really, but when it come to little toy cars I figure they're all the same on the inside, so RS gave us a F150, and I'm like ahh well, close enough.

I also think it's kinda fun, because there is a billion and 1 Ford trucks riding on dubs around here, so to me this truck screams 'West Side'.

Oh I just love all trucks, tall trucks, short trucks, it don't matter. Street trucks are cool, because with more and more muscle cars ending up pampered in the garage, you can always pick up a late 70's Silverado with a 454, for pretty cheap. Warm that bitch over, and change the gearing in the diff, and you got's a screamer.

Seriously though, these new chassis with the springs, handle great. I'm gonna be putting some FETs in it, and 4.2, and I'll be racing it around until then.
