Dude, shaft driven, and little dogbones up front, that's cool.

For those with an imagination, that will open up all kinds of micro engineering possibilities.

Yeah, that went from "I'm not interested at all" to "I wanna tear into one of those right now" in one quick read... nice review, richh.

I'm glad RS took the initiative to do it right. I'm sure there will be some negatives but the regular steering and centershaft and micro dogbones are exciting to say the least. :???:

Holy shit! I had hopes for them being good, and was going to get one to test, but now Im definetally getting one! The only thing that I can see wrong is the shitty excuse for suspension.

I like it. That shell looks great, except for the flame sticker on the hood. Why couldn't they make the F150 shell look that good?

A Grave Digger shell would look real nice on that.

Nice job with the photos.

chassis
first off, this has regular steering (not tank style). steering is done by a vertically mounted hard wired motor.
What are the tires like? Are they solid or hollow? Soft or hard? Good grip?

cool little big truck. Makes me wanna run over some shit. The front suspension does look a little dumbed down. I'm thinking fets, another cell? Is the steering prop? Then she'd really cook. Overall it's a nice rig. Maybe I'll get one for Xmas. (if there are any left, which i highly doubt)

ok, i've had a little more time to play with the truck. some more comments.

- the 21K motor is definitely lacking in the torque dept. does not like climbing obstacles with it unless you get a running start.
- you can charge the truck w/o having to put the controllers antenna down, why you can't do this with a zzse still boggles my mind
- there's a little spring washer that goes on between the wheel and the nut; this things a royal pain in the ass to get on.
- ground clearance is pretty poor right by the wheels (cause of the gear on one side in back and the steering blocks/knuckles in the front)
- the steering motor needs an upgrade in the torque; when you hold the truck up in the air the wheels turn a lot more than when on the ground.
- pops a nice wheelie if you do the reverse to forward thing on carpet and fresh charge

to answer some of your questions...
-steering is not propo, turn radius is probably between a foot and a half an 2 feet though i'm guessing with a stronger steering motor it would be less (see above comment)
-tires are hollow, a little on the stiff side. decent grip though (just look at the pics and how much crap sticks to them)
- yea, the the flame sticker on the hood is a big ?; the sides are printed or painted, why couldn't they do the hood?

i hope you aren't getting the wrong impression, this thing is fun but it ain't no mega articulating, boulder climbing, 1/64th txt or tmaxx. think more along the lines of a 4wd zz with lots o' torque, big wheels to go with it, and a decent looking body. still worth the $25 in my opinion.

also just saw the monster wheel and tire kit on the rs site
