this is bitpimps custom modifications, isnt it?hogjowlz wrote:turning radius is fine. you guys are comparing these things to "cars" trucks are supposed to handle different.
someone here made it faster.
doubtless someone here will make it look cooler.
cant we wish for tighter?
(turning radius?)
i like my truck just fine as it is for now. the only thing i dont like is how pitifully weak the steering is. not just for turning radius. the steering feels sluggish in general. i can watch torque push cause steering resistance when i drive it. i can also see more steering travel with the wheels in the air. and when on a smooth suface the wheels dont turn as far even when the car is not moving. that has nothing to do with 4wd.
i hope someone here figures out how to improve steering. if i figure anything out of course i will post.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Sorry dude, scored one today, right on scedule. If it makes you feel any better they ran out of tire sets, and I really wanted one of those.CaboWabo wrote: I still ain't got one. (crazydave better not have one yet either lol)

I did manage to grab the last Spiderman Hummer, and a motor set.
These things do indeed kick some ass. Speed out of the box wasn't too bad, I can only imagine I'm gonna have some fun with the motor set and FETs.

This thing handle my little dirt bit track so well, it yawned at it and decided to go off for some real adventure. So it wandereds into the rough stuff around the side and out back.

It just tore through it all, I only had to back up twice, and never had to unstuck it.
Steering radius wasn't too bad, about a 10"-12" radius, so it met my expectations. The steering was a bit weak, I think a better motor and FETs are really gonna help in the rough stuff.
I am a happy camper, I will be buying more of these, that's for shure.

I understand that, I was just stating its off road performance and what I thought someone could improve upon.Look...these things aren't going to perform like a Mini-z Monster, Overland, or Rockbuster.
BTW You're right that it doesn't need a stronger steering motor in smooth surfaces, but on rugs it seems that the motor can't steer the front wheels all the way. On smooth floors it's fine.

I have observed this too....on some rugs. On my regular carpet, it turns just as well as it does on a smooth surface. But it doesn't seem to turn well on the newer rug that I have laid on my hardwood floor. It has a tighter weave. It looks to me like the front wheels are turning just as far as they would on a smooth surface....but they are being pushed and the truck wants to keep going straight when its on a surface with less grip.mshkttck wrote: BTW You're right that it doesn't need a stronger steering motor in smooth surfaces, but on rugs it seems that the motor can't steer the front wheels all the way. Dude from Denmark: i guess we take it for granted here in the states that we can get the rc goods-a-plenty, and cheap too. But oh how I LOVED Kobnhavn (that's Copenhagen for you yanks). Sigh. Wish I was there now instead of this country a going down the toilet. Freakin repubs.
CD: yo! like, where's your lawn bro? must admit, that looks great to me. no watering, no mowing, and rc off-roadin. man, i really gotta relocate.
Denmark or desert...hmm...
