Red Ford

Post by crazydave »

Yeah well, I'm just not excited about this one, but I figured I'd show it off anyways before I paint over it.

It's just too red for me. Not quite what I was picturing.

I did this thing along the bottom where I layed the first mask and then masked again farther down. I layed 2 coats of the blue, then I pulled the second mask off, and sprayed from like a foot and a half away to give it a faded effect.

Worked out well, I'm happy with my experiment, just not feeling the red for this car. I think I thought the red would accent the chrome wheels better.

Oh, I'm not saying it looks bad. I'm just not into red trucks. Don't know if you noticed, but I have a thing for blues, greys, and silvers. I'm not sure what I was thinking with the red, just trying something different, I guess, and I just don't like it.

Besides, I think I'm kinda wishing I didn't paint over this.

I don't know, they say third times a charm, maybe I'll figure out how I want this F-150 to look.

Serously man....I like it. That red paint job suists the Monster chassis much better than the blue and silver. Looks more badass...

BTW....it looks like this kit finally became available for order today on the RS website. Just think what you can do with these babies:

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

I ordered mine today. They should be at the house in a few days.

I got the RS I frequent to order them for me. The Mgr. I usually deal with was a little pissed that I knew about them and he didn't. Plus, he can't even order then into the store, but he can order them for me and have them shipped to my house for FREE.

Yeah, I'm waiting for that Chevy body. This one was just to tide me over. I'm just waiting for them to hit the store shelves. I like to do that, because for the first year micro RCs were around, all I could find locally was crappy Cannonballs, so I always get a kick when I can walk right in a store and buy stuff.

It looked alright driving around, but I'm still not super excited about my red truck. I think I'm gonna revert back to the Hummer body, since it'll be at least a week, maybe 2 before these hit the stores.

(here I forgot to repost this pic)

Well CD, I have to say that paint job is bad ass. You're right though, it doesn't set off those rims. Although I think it's hard to set off ZZMT rims anyways. They're a bit farther from the body and surounded by alot of black.
Cause I ride around town on my low-rider bicycle.

I think you just hit that nail on the head. Not only is there lots of black around the wheels, but I used a dark shade around the bottom of the body further separating it from the wheels.

I did, it's a gold Jeep now. I'm gonna paint it this weekend.

Thanks Superfly, wouldn't want to forget these:
