i dont remember the brand.. i think they were called "Andy's Springs" not a big company..

there are more than one size of the tomy afx springs.. it would all depend on which ones you had. some are to small for a bit and some are to tall...

last time i looked there were 4 off brand hop-up spring companys selling springs at my hobby store. along with tyco, aurora/afx, and Rokar, and lifelike.... lots of different sizes..

yes i would have to agree.. it is one of the nicest ive ever been to.. and its quite large.. 1/3 of the store is R/C planes.. they even have turbine powerd R/C's then a big chunk is R/C cars/trucks/boats. and in the middle are slot cars/ trains/ models/ bobbleheads/ Painting accessorys...and other nik naks.. their website is kinda new. its just a bunch of links right now.. anyway from what i understand they are one of the largest resalers of the Traxxas trucks. its awesome. i want one of the T-maxx's but dont have that money to spend.. they have 1 corner of the store dedicated to this truck.. you can get any part, in chrome, anadized in any color, or i think even carbon fiber... either way they have it all.

however their microsizers are still 36.00(first gen). and they dont have sports or pro's. but they do have MS accessorys... once again at a fairly steep price..

hey I made some good springs for my ZZ by wrapping 8 gauge (o it may be 28 the wapper on the wire is broken) copper wire around the old plastic base till you get a good looking spring.

28 sounds more like it, 8 is some rather large wire.

hey I just tested my new springs out and all I have to say is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET they work so well. I got the car to hug the ground nice on a very smooth marble floor when going at top speed (before it would allways barrel roll) I would suggest this mod to anyone.

yep, i used the tomy ones for awhile and whenever i hit a bump my front end would bounce instead of absorb it. I gotta try some of those slotcar ones. I wonder if my old tyco cars have some :???:

The biggest changes I've noticed that driving outside on concrete is more feasible now.

Before I would drive and the car would go all over the place. Then I'd hit the crack in between the concrete slabs and whamooo! Car flips and it's all over.....

Taking out the sway bar and replacing with springs actually gives you independent font end suspension which is quite cool(sad).

I now find that the car handles the rough and tumbles of the concrete a lot more in its stride than before. I won't say that it's perfect, but it's a lot better than before.

I mean sheesh, when you hit a "hole" that is 150% your wheel diameter then your buggered now matter what you do.

The perils of 1/64, ahh well......

If you read the whole of this thread you'll see how I "make" the springs I use, lol...

I sell them @ $3 USD for two pairs, shipping inc.
