What do you mean in trust? As long as you charge li-po packs at the correct rate, everything will be fine. You are still planning on running a mamba, right? The Mamba M-25 ESC has a adjustable low-voltage cutoff that they implimented for running li-po packs. I would recommend the Great Planes Triton charger. It charges any battery out there and is $120 at tower. By all means do NOT buy a MRC charger, the new 969 has problems charging lithiums, and is the main culprit of overcharge mishaps.
There's no replacement for displacment.

I want the Intellipeak ICE. It charges everything that I might buy or use in the future.
Just like the JR XS3 Pro Radio I want. It'll run things that I don't even have yet.
I just haven't really seen enough positive and idiot-proof Li-poly info to make them my first choice. Especially since I'm still new to the larger scale of RC. I want to keep it simple first, then I'll move onto the Li-poly after I get familiar with the norm first.
I don't want to burn my house down with the first charge.
It'll be one year for me in January for being into RC's, and I started with 1:64th and Bitpimps as my info source. Now I'm reading things all over the place and dealing with 4 different scales, less than a year later.
After all that, I finally had the time, patience, and confidence to do my first dual cell in a bit last week.
Just like my RC scale progression....
1:64th then...
1:43rd then...
1:2xth then...
1:18th then...
1:xxth then...

the batts and chargers are easy to use and trust.sg219 wrote:Um...Not really. Not until Li-poly's become as easy to use and TRUST as Nimh's.
Right now I want to use an 8-cell set-up.
the performance with lipo is so much better that i beg you to reconsider.
from your work you clearly are the type of person who is willing to be careful and diligent-you take your time and pay attention to what you are doing.
anyone anal retentive enough to de-anodize his aluminum aftermarket parts wont make the mistakes that cause the problems in the first place.
all you have to do is:
never dead short the battery (causes fires w/nimh too!)
always confirm output settings on charger (causes fires w/nimh too!)
never charge the battery in the toy (also good advice for any battery)
program your mamba esc one time for voltage cutoff
what you get is almost double the runtime as lipos give up the juice at full amperage and voltage until they are almost exhausted.
less or no cogging
less weight for the same voltage and capacity
b-p-p.com can set you up with a 3s tp1900 and a charger for $99.

Put up the link. I'll check it out.
I'm not saying I'll never use then, I just didn't want to as a first time thing.
What a line this is.....

...I guess you sorta have a point on that one.gnubee wrote:anyone anal retentive enough to de-anodize his aluminum aftermarket parts wont make the mistakes that cause the problems in the first place.

No, I didn't. I've just been spending cash on other things....
T-Maxx
XXX-NT
MRS4
Xmod alloy (as long as CJ can get what I want, I will buy it)
Collecting Bit-Char-G's
I spent $600 to get 2 nitro's and a ton of parts with a value of around $1,500 or so. Now I need them both to run properly.
Plus, other stuff.
I haven't kicked the Mini-T to the curb. Its right there every moring to remind me to finish it.
I don't have much to go to finish it. About $300-400 more in parts and electronics.
Needed...
TX
RX
Axles
Mamba ESC
Mamba motor
Paint the body I have.
...and some other small parts.
Plus a little more polish and de-anodizing.
...and if all goes well, a big surprise!!!!!

I really like the idea of having a charger that does it all, but I'm always afraid of choosing the wrong type of charge. My little 50 dollar Apache S2500 not only does the job with li-pos well, but since it detects what the voltage is in the beginning, you can't blow up your house by charging a 2s kokam 1500 pack at the 4s setting.sg219 wrote:I just haven't really seen enough positive and idiot-proof Li-poly info to make them my first choice.

I haven't updated this in awhile...
I think I found my servo.
But I see this in the describtion.....
I think I'm going to try it anyway.
BlueBird

Never give up.
I wanted a chrome or silver servo, and now I've found it!!!
No freakin' blue or black. I can't de-anodize plastic.

I'm not really worried about price. I want the best possible. I've gone this far with NO expense, why stop now.
I think the BlueBird wins outright by specs.
Opinions?
I have 2 Mamba's now!!! One for the Mini-T and one for the MRS4!!!
I just got the one I bought from Madscott and I have one other too. But only one ESC.

Well then what purpose does it serve? Will it still work. This servo comes with a servo accessory package. This servo is not designed to be used in R/C car applications.
I think I'm going to try it anyway.

It probably doesn't have enough, or too much throw. That's the only reason I can think of.
Now if you get an ajustable Tx, you might be able to dial it in..
The servos they use in robot applications are like that too.
