sportin alloy shoes
Just thought I's throw up some pics of the Maxx with the alloy wheels, and bowties on it.
I scored these wheels used off this dude named Staats on another site. He's cool to deal with.
Truck runs great with em on.

I like em.

Well, if it makes you fell any better, I'm down to just the Maxx for now.
I need a few bucks for parts , and shit.
Is it still cold as fuck up there? is that thing a pull start?
what kind of compression does it have if you turn the flywheel over by hand?

They do add quite a bit of rotating mass like stampede said, but I don't race, so no biggie, and I'm not so sure, but it feels like the CG has dropped, and to me, that's worth the extra mass.
They are durable as fuck too. Truck ain't any slower if that makes any difference.

When setting up your suspention, you want some "sag" in it..
When I say sag, I mean when you set the truck down, the truck should sink down about 1/3 total travel of the shocks.
You can adjust this with the preloads that came with the truck/shocks.
I know from the pics that my set up appears to be stock, but not so, and I actually like it to have the "stock" look.
At the present time, I'm running Traxxas big bore teflon coated shocks with 50wt in the corners, and 40wt in the inside.
Front springs are big bore springs, and the rears are stock T-Maxx springs.
no preloads here, and it handles like a charm.
hope that helps.

Preloads aren't meant to be used to make springs stiffer. the preloads are meant to adjust your ride height, aka sag, and that's it.stampede_dude wrote:sometimes preloads are the only thing on hand but springs are definately better. but be aware that too many spacers will hurt the travel .
If you want stiffer suspention, you change to stiffer springs.
Thicker shock oil will keep the stiffer springs from rebounding too fast, and causing your truck to bounce on landings.
