That's awesome man. I love to hear shit like that, and I don't just mean the racing. I'm talking about the way the kids can play, and not speak the same language. It's a shame adults can't have that same innocence...

While reading that story CD I was fearing it would end in the death of one of your rides, but thank god it was all hugs and flowers and shit.
As far as the kids and RC, my 5 year old shares my love for WoW, yet never really was into RC, but my 3 year old and I always take out a MT and a Bit char-g and play demolition derby. We can do it for hours. You got to share your passion for toys w/ your kids.
Also I love your point about how the neighbor kid could really tell the difference in a stock crap car and a tricked out work of art. Toy execs are retards IMO, but they are learning.
CD, for the next encounter, you have got to get video. I think it would be worth it.

I used to think the same way, my dad always hoarded all the Ding Dongs and Twinkies, but now I'm in a position where I have to have my 2 or 3 chocolate chip cookies every night after dinner. They last me until next payday, but he'll eat them all at once. So I have to hide them. He gets some cheap ass sandwich cookies, and he loves 'em, but yeah, he does like my cookies better. I do share them fairly often though. He's got a cookie radar, and if I'm getting a cookie, he's there.betty.k wrote:kids should always have the best.
nothing upsets me more than parents that have a separate cupboard of cheap food for the kids while they eat the good stuff! don't ever shortchange a kid!

About the vid, I guess I thought about it, but I was a little busy turn marshalling.

I'll try to get a vid next time, because I'm sure there will be a next time.

Yeah!betty.k wrote:fuck man, you shoulda filmed it anyway! we all would have watched
Hell, you could probably show the 2 kids that video like 10 or 20 years from now and everyone could have a little laugh and enjoy it. There's TONS of vids of people running perfect laps and racing...But how many vids are there of a Dad and his 5yr old son racing, but then a non-english speaking 5yr old kid first gets introduced (and FLOORED by how fast they are) to the R/C world?
Hehe, if I had an RC Hobbyshop, I'd use that video to advertise with!

All this talkin about racing with sons/daughters psyches me out! I can't wait for my boy to get here and be old enough to drive with 'em (and I mean in all respects of "driving"...As soon as he can see over the steering wheel and still reach the pedals, he's gonna learn to drive 1:1 .
