Are they AFX HO slot cars. I have seen a couple at my hobby shop but I didnt know if they would actually fit right on the chassis. Is the axel that the HO wheels come with compatible with the Bit/Zip chassis? I could grab a pair of rears for 8 bucks, think i might do it. I'm not sure if they are foam might be rubber or w.e. Foam better than pullback wheels?

They usually come in a little package with just the wheels and tires. Just get a ZZ/bit axle and gear and mount the slot car wheels on that axle. Use a stock zz/bit axle as a guide for spacing. That's the easiest and cheapest method. They tend to be a smaller diameter and about twice as wide as a normal bit wheel/tire. Because of the small diameter, you should consider using a teal gear if you want normal speed out of it.MafiaS wrote:Are they AFX HO slot cars. Thanks alot guys...I noticed though smaller wheels in diameter help the car to perform better. Handling wise. The lambo set has smaller wheels than a normal bit and I'm assuming it helped my traction alot more, plus i switched the gear to teal and it has some nice torque out of the turns compared to a stock gear.

Darn, I need to find me some of those.
That thing looks SWEET.
For the record, Krylon sells "aluminum" colored fully-metallic spraypaint. You'll need to put on a base coat of "plastic-safe" white spraypaint first, but a few quick layers of that stuff will give you a lovely reflective shine. I just used a whole can on my haloween costume.

Actually, a robot. I've got LEDs that blink back and forth across the "eye", and a funny spinning thingamajig (actually a hacked PC fan running on nine volts) on the top.Maxximum Attack wrote:What are you, a UFO?Cheesehead wrote: I just used a whole can on my haloween costume.![]()
STG: those foamies are sweet! That's porbably the first bit I've ever seen with them plus the size fits the scale perfectly, they dont look like 18" rims on a classic. Just classic
PM'd you off topic

The arms and legs are made out of dryer vent hose and stovepipe fittings.
Hmm...I wonder where I could snag some of those? I can't find them online.

Shit man, while you're on the subject, dude, needs to try some FETs mods, first. Extra cells, bigger motors, that's all great, but it makes more sense to make the circuit more efficient so it allows more current to flow, rather than force more juice through the circuit with a higher voltage and a higher current draw. FETs are cheap, about $0.50 a piece, you should order some up and practice installing them. I'm confident, with the mods I've seen you do, STG, that you could pull it off.Nasphere wrote: And have you considered codesuide's DC mod for the SE? It gives 100% at full throttle incase you haven't read.

I wish I could meet up and race you in person, 'cause I'm really curious, I'd be willing to bet that my FET modded Vette, w/ a 3.4 NX motor and red gears would beat that car, because the FETs give that motor plenty torque to turn those gears. You take a faster motor and turn a faster gear ratio its gotta go faster, huh? Of course that 3rd cell could even everything out, that's why I'm curious, but I know for a fact my DC modded SE will easily dust a tricell SE, because its letting the full 2.4v through. Even at 3.6v a current generation SE will only allow about 1.8v of that through.
